Raising income in Vietnam

Funds to buy a cow have made a huge difference to the lives of Van Quang and his wife Thi who live off a small plot of land in Vietnam. They use the cow for ploughing and to fertilise their land, and now the cow has had a calf!

Quang and Thi look after their two grandchildren and one son and do not qualify for a pension, so the extra income the cow provides is essential.

In Quang’s words the cow has: ‘made a huge difference’, and when the next calf is born he is looking forward to buying another cow.
